Poetry Recitation Contest on World Poetry Day

Celebrate the beauty of words and rhythm at our Poetry Recitation Contest on 21st March (World Poetry Day)! This event invites students to explore the theme of School Life, expressing their experiences, emotions, and creativity through poetry.


Event Structure

Round 1: Submission

  • Students must submit their original poem to their class teacher by 20th March.
  • Poems should reflect the theme School Life and be written by the student.

Round 2: Recitation & Judging

  • Selected students will recite their poems in front of the judges.
  • Evaluation will be based on:
    • Tone & Mood – How well emotions are conveyed.
    • Diction – Choice of words and clarity.
    • Fluency – Smoothness and confidence in delivery.
    • Timing – Proper pacing and rhythm.
    • Level of Complexity – Depth and creativity in the poem.

Round 3: Showcase on YouTube

  • Finalists’ recitation videos will be uploaded to our Official YouTube Channel, giving them a platform to share their talent with a wider audience.

Rules for Participation

  • Eligibility: Open to all students.
  • Theme: Poems must be based on School Life.
  • Originality: Only original poems written by the student will be accepted.
  • Submission Deadline: Poems must be submitted by 20th March to the class teacher.
  • Recitation Guidelines: Participants must memorize their poem and deliver it confidently without reading directly from paper.
  • Time Limit: Each recitation should not exceed 3 minutes.
  • Language: Poems can be in English or Hindi, depending on the student’s preference.
  • Respectful Content: Poems must be appropriate, respectful, and suitable for a school audience.
